Vision

Kingdom Collaboration

When I think about vision for the Valley Rim association of churches my mind runs to the scene of kingdom worship in the book of Revelation. I imagine one day a crowd of believers gathered in the presence of God from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. In that multitude of believers, a small portion of those will be joined together not as this church or that church. as Valley Rim or Arizona Southern Baptist, but as a purchased people, bought for God by the blood of the Lamb, worshipping the King. (Rev 5:9-14)

I imagine a day where our churches are not siloed and divided by geographical boundaries. A day where we are not consumed with protecting, promoting, or pursuing our own brand, but instead our churches work together filling in each other's gaps. Where the will of God is made manifest in our community of local churches, not because of this program or that pastor but because of the people of God are working together to bring about the will of God, β€œon earth as it is in heaven.” (Matt 6:10-11a)

Our vision is to see a network of local churches, each unique in its expression, actively engaged, working together, in collaboration, for the spread of the gospel, and the expansion of the kingdom, which will result in the transformation of our cities. (Jer 29:5-7)

Mission

To foster relationships for greater kingdom Impact!

We foster those relationships through three different types of connections. Think of the association like connective tissue in the human body. Connective tissue, of course, connects, but it also supports, protects, repairs, and generally fills in the gaps within the human body. Valley Rim is like the connective tissue of the body of Christ. The role we serve is one of connecting. We connect with pastors and their families. We connect to resources and training. We connect through mission.
